One of the things I remember about visiting with my grandmother was that she always had some sort of treat.
I always wondered though… did she make them for the grands or did she make them for herself too? Either way, we enjoyed them together!
INGREDIENTS:
Biscuit mix
Dried fruit
Sugar
Oil
INSTRUCTIONS:
Prepare Dried Fruit (peaches, apples or apricots) : Almost cover with water and cook down until tender. Add sugar to sweeten to taste.
Make a batch of biscuit dough (with a little less water or milk). Roll out thin and use a small saucer to cut a circle for each pie.
Spread half side of dough with prepared dried peaches, apples or apricots. Fold over, crisp around edges with fork to seal.
Fry in iron skillet over medium heat in 1/2 inch oil until brown. Drain on paper towel. (May be baked at 350 degrees.)
