Cheese Strata

INGREDIENTS:
12 slices white bread
1/4 pound sharp cheese
2 packages (10 ounces each) broccoli, cooked, drained and chopped
2 cups diced cooked ham
6 eggs, beaten
3 1/2 cups milk
2 tablespoons minced onion
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon dry mustard
shredded cheese

STEP BY STEP:
Cut 12 rounds from bread, discarding crusts.
Line the bottom of a buttered baking dish with bread, then add (in order) layers of cheese, broccoli, ham and any bread crumbs leftover from the bread.

Combine eggs, milk, onion, salt and dry mustard; pour over all.
Cover and refrigerate for 6 hours or overnight.

Bake, uncovered at 325°F. for 55 minutes.
Sprinkle the top with shredded cheese 5 minutes before serving.

Let stand for 10 minutes before cutting into squares.

We chose Broccoli and Ham, but you can customize it with your own choice of veggies and meats or even different cheeses. The sky is the limit when it comes to building and baking a strata that tastes good to you.
Just use whatever combination tastes good to you!

Makes 12 servings.
