Annual 40 Bags in 40 Days

Ten Questions

Are you ready?  Ready for what, you ask?  Ready to completely change your life. Ready to declutter and simplify your life. What is 40 Bags in 40 Days? A forty day period usually in the spring (coinciding with the 40 days of Lent) where you focus on cleaning one area per day. In this one area you challenge yourself to de-clutter, simplify, de-crapify, and get rid of things you don’t need. The goal is one bag a day but you can have more or less. There is really is no certain date, however, you can start it whenever you are finding this post, we’ll still be here to cheer you on! Think about it… We truly can live without a lot of the stuff we have. Don’t get me wrong, I love my timesaving gadgets and gizmos. I love pretty pillows that match my decor and all the books upon books upon books we have around here and I don’t think I could ever give away a blue Mason jar…. But I am learning bit by bit to hold my stuff a little more loosely and to give it away a little more freely. Now this is a process…  and I’m in the process of it. Don’t focus on the bags. Focus on getting all of the unnecessary stuff out in one spot per day. Don’t go nuts and tackle five spots because you want to prove something. Don’t get all bummed out because you missed a day (or ten). Just focus on one. spot. per. day. Before you know it, you will have de-cluttered more than you realized that you could. Now share this with a friend and challenge them to join in!
