Perfect for Thanksgiving or anytime of the year!
3 lb. yams
2 c. sugar
3 sticks Blue Bonnet butter with no cholesterol
1 c. Cool Whip or marshmallow
1 (16 oz.) can crushed pineapple
1 tsp. dry orange peel
1 tsp. allspice
1/2 half tsp. nutmeg
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
STEP BY STEP:
Wash potatoes; clean and peel.
Slice 1/4 inch thick.
Put in large container on stove.
Cook fast for 15 minutes or until tender.
Use Dutch oven or roaster.
Put on layer of potatoes in Dutch oven with sugar, 1 sticks of butter, 1/2 cup crushed pineapple, and a sprinkle of orange peel.
Add the allspice, Cool Whip, and cover first layer.
Sprinkle a little nutmeg, cinnamon, and cloves; repeat next two layers as mentioned.
Cook on top of stove for 25 minutes or in oven for 30 minutes at 250 degrees.
